Most people that know me know that I love baseball. I love watching it and of course my favorite team is the Toronto Blue Jays. They have probably been my team since 1992 when they won the world series, I probably still have the VCR recording of Game 6 against the Atlanta Braves from October 24, 1992.
And then 2015….. the Bautista bat flip in game 5 against the Texas Rangers - iconic.
And how about 2025! What a year for the Toronto Blue Jays. The highs all throughout the year, ending the season with a 94-68 win-loss record. Then beating the all-time rivals New York Yankees to clinch the ALDS. Coming out on top of the Mariners to clinch the ALCS and then the Word Series. Game 7 AMAZING!! Of course I would have loved to see the Blue Jays win that game but the excitement, it was almost like I was one of the players.
Now, spring training has started for 2026. What’s in store for this year? Spring training always feels like a fresh start. The records reset to 0–0. There’s something hopeful about watching prospects fight for roster spots and veterans shake off the rust. Every year there’s that same thought: this could be the year.
What makes this team exciting isn’t just the talent — it’s the personalities. The Blue Jays have always had heart. From the championship grit of the early ’90s, to the swagger of the 2015 squad, to last year’s 2025 group that just refused to quit, this franchise has a way of creating moments you never forget. It’s never just baseball. It’s memories tied to where you were, who you watched with, and how loud you yelled at the TV.
I still think about how electric the country felt during last year’s playoff run. Every big hit felt bigger. Every ninth inning felt like it took an hour. Walking around the next day, you could see Jays hats and jerseys everywhere like we were all connected. That’s what being a fan is about — not just wins and losses but sharing those emotions with others.
So, now the question is the same one we ask every spring: can they do it again? Did they add enough pieces in the offseason? Can the pitching stay healthy? Who’s going to have that breakout season nobody sees coming?
Whatever happens, I’ll be watching. Because being a Blue Jays fan isn’t just about championships — it’s about loyalty. It’s about sticking with your team through the rebuilding, the heartbreaks, and the magical seasons that make it all worth it. And who knows… maybe this October will give us another moment to replay over and over again, just like that old Game 6 tape from ’92.
Let’s Go Blue Jays, Let’s Play Ball.
