Keep the Peace

Canada, O Canada, a peacekeeping nation.

A country where we honor all creation.

A nation under God where we’ve always tried

To help our brothers to stem the tide

of poverty and illness, to maintain our pride

in human rights and promotion of peace world wide.

It’s very important to tell our government

To maintain our role as a peacekeeping country.

To guard against those who would have us kill

and injure others against their will.

To have us join in fruitless battles

we cannot win, and we’ll only succeed

in killing and maiming through senseless deeds.

Let’s join together to keep our country

in a peacekeeping role, a peacekeeping nation.

Keep away from the battles when fighting is senseless.

Where suicide bombers make the battles relentless.

Where our soldiers are dying and civilians are slaughtered.

We have to demand that this state be altered.

In Canada, the peace we enjoy was gained by veterans

who gave their all to defend our great nation.

They fought in wars to maintain our right

to freedom that’s lost if we don’t hold tight

to our values, our dignity, our sense of goodwill.

Our role, keep the peace. Unless it’s defense, don’t kill.

God Bless Our Veterans.
