For me, these past four months flew by tremendously fast. That was most likely because of all the assignments I had due that kept me busy for the most part. But at last, the holiday break came and I got to spend the last two weeks back in Nova Scotia again.

The majority of my time back in Nova Scotia was spent with my family. My Mom and I went out together often. Our adventures included activities such as photoshoots in a restaurant’s washroom, and the gazebo in Stewiacke, skateboarding in Walmart, and much more silliness. We tend to have a similar sense of humour, which is both a blessing and a curse as it also includes teasing our family members. My brothers were clearly very excited to have me back for that reason.
I left my Playstation at home so I haven’t played video games on it since the summertime. Playing video games, such as Fortnite with my brothers is also a fun activity I did. Although I don’t think they thought it was nearly as fun as I did, regardless they agreed multiple times to play with me. We did lose most of the games we played, and I will admit, I am not the best Fortnite player, but it was fun nonetheless, especially since I couldn’t hear my brother yelling at me from downstairs. My Fortnite skills are also the potential reason for his teeth-grinding problem at night. I did not think I was that bad at Fortnite, but apparently I was wrong.
My friend and I planned to spend time together during our break, and that we did. He got to experience my chaotic driving that includes taking multiple wrong turns, but we always make it to our destination at some point. We went shopping then to the Playdium where he beat me at basically everything. Apparently the only thing I am good at is driving a motorcycle. We also sat in my vehicle, caught up and talked about our lives like we used to during high school. Those moments are one of the only things I miss about high school. It is always great spending time with him.
The holiday season is always better with family. Although the Christmas lights and decorations were pretty in Toronto, I did not really get into the Christmas spirit until I arrived home. Which was a couple days before Christmas day. It was also nice to finally have a white Christmas again after many years of greens and brown. It did, however, push our family gathering usually on Christmas day to a few days later, which was not ideal but it did happen eventually, and I got to see my mom’s side of the family again.
I knew as I was counting down the days until this break that it would fly by, and it did. Time does fly by when you’re having fun. I do enjoy it here in Toronto very much, but it was very nice to come home to Nova Scotia and spend time with family and friends. I am sure the next four months will soon be through in no time.
